About the Impact Xcelerator
The Impact Xcelerator, presented by The Luminary Project, was designed for emerging changemakers making positive impact in their communities, often with limited resources but big vision.
Over the course of four weeks, the fully virtual program offered 40 changemakers the structure and support they needed to strengthen their mission, design fundable programs, and build the systems required to grow and sustain their social impact. From strategy and storytelling to leadership and compliance, they were equipped not just with knowledge, but with the clarity and confidence to take their impact to the next level. While only 19 out of the changemakers actively participated, 100% of respondents rated the program as Satisfactory.
Problem
Many early-stage changemakers launch social initiatives based on passion and a deep sense of purpose. However, they often lack structured strategies for fundraising, program design, stakeholder engagement, and compliance. Without these foundations, many impactful ideas remain under-resourced, poorly executed, or unsustainable, limiting their long-term effectiveness and growth.
Solution
The Luminary Project with the support of B4B Partners designed the Impact Xcelerator to help these purpose-driven individuals move from passion to structure, and from structure to growth. The program delivered:
● Five intensive modules covering key areas such as Revenue & Lead Generation, Community Engagement, Program Design, Leadership & Team Building, and Legal & Financial Health.
● Weekly live virtual sessions led by expert facilitators.
● Actionable workbooks, tools, and session replays to support learning and implementation.
● Access to certificates and micro-grants through TLP Impact Fund II for eligible participants.
● A learning community where changemakers could connect, share ideas, and grow together.
Learning Outcomes
Changemakers left the program with increased clarity, structure, and capacity. Notable outcomes include:
● Clearer Fundraising Strategy: To articulate their Unique Value Proposition (UVP) and identify their Ideal Donor/Beneficiary using automated tools like Apollo.
● Improved Program Design: They learnt frameworks for designing structured and fundable initiatives.
● Strengthened Leadership: Many reported greater confidence in leading teams and communicating their vision.
● Greater Compliance Awareness: They became more informed on NGO registration, board structures, and tax requirements.
● Sustained Learning: Access to session replays, workbooks, and templates helped changemakers apply insights beyond the live sessions.
Feedback

“I now design programs that are more funder-friendly and sustainable.” – Kehinde Thompson, Renaissance Foundation for Peace Builders
“The network I built during the program has opened up real collaboration opportunities.” — Ivory Emeka-Oguagha, Y-SIPS Foundation
Conclusion
The Impact Xcelerator achieved its goal of helping early-stage social impact changemakers build fundable, credible, and sustainable organizations. Through practical training, peer learning and ongoing support, changemakers gained clarity, improved their systems, and strengthened their capacity for long-term impact.
As The Luminary Project continues to invest in grassroots leadership, future cohorts of the Impact Xcelerator will get more support, expand access, and strengthen impact where it matters most.
